That’s what some people over in Silicon Valley keep shouting about — that we can’t even keep up in conversation with such fast language models and such fast AI systems unless we have a direct connection to them. And on the other hand, I think the angle they’ve taken is awesome, because the first patient actually got capabilities back — genuinely disabled people, blind people, getting direct access to their senses. That really is awesome, being able to make things work on a bigger scale. It’s not just that it’d be nice to chat with AI quickly, it’s also that it makes us humans more resilient, and gives us more possibilities.
