00:00 Sami Miettinen: You notice that Silicon Valley has a completely different clock speed than here in Europe. Mårten Mickos: Yes, it is. Everything there is nimbler, faster, more immediate. And sometimes I’ve said it like this: in Europe, a million is a lot of money, but in Silicon Valley, an hour is a lot of time. And then I realized that of course in many industries and societies, there is this linear behavior, where what exists might grow by a couple of percent a year, or 3%, but it grows steadily. It’s a straight line that grows or shrinks or whatever, but it changes linearly. But in digital sectors and industrial fields, changes are exponential, meaning they compound. And if something starts to take off, it takes off really fast. If it starts to decline, it declines sharply. And that is why moving fast is so valuable. So valuable, in fact, that it is better to act faster imperfectly than to act slower perfectly.
