## Summary

Toni Heiskanen and Janne Piiroinen wrote the first original Finnish-language book on Bitcoin and published it free online. The longest and most analytical part of the episode is a point-by-point dismantling of Nassim Nicholas Taleb's Bitcoin critique: the zero-value claim rests on miners eventually stopping, yet addresses only the block reward and not transaction fees, while the slowness claim overlooks the Lightning Network entirely — never mentioned once in the six-page paper. In Heiskanen's view the critique matches what 2017-era critics argued before Lightning became common. The conversation covers Tether's stablecoin risk and the lesson of Mt. Gox, the energy use of proof of work and why a thirty per cent fall in hash rate after China's mining ban did not bring the network down, and the market psychology of the halving cycle.

## The gap in the zero-value argument

Taleb's case is that Bitcoin's terminal value is zero because mining eventually stops. The rebuttal the guests offer is narrow and checkable: the paper reasons from the block reward alone, and the block reward is only half of what pays for security. Whether transaction fees can carry it is a real open question — but it is not one the paper addresses.

## Arguing with the 2017 system

Six pages on Bitcoin's unsuitability for payments that never mention the Lightning Network is a critique of the protocol as it stood before Lightning existed. That observation does not settle whether Lightning works; it settles what the paper is about.

## Thirty per cent of the hash rate left

China banned mining, a third of the network's capacity went offline, and blocks kept coming. It is the closest thing to a controlled resilience test the system has had, and the guests are right to lead with it.
