## Summary

## What they refused to draw

The sixty-kilometre column was the most reproduced image of the war's first weeks, and it never went on this team's map, because they could not verify it to their own standard. That decision is the clearest statement of method in the episode: a map that only shows what has been confirmed will be emptier and more useful than one that shows what is being said.

## A siege that was not there

The encirclement rumoured around Irpin circulated for days and did not exist. Kastehelmi and Helin use it to show how a claim survives on plausibility alone once it has been repeated enough, and why tracing a story to its first source is the whole job rather than a preliminary to it.

## A snapshot, knowingly

This was recorded days after the withdrawal, when a great deal about what had happened in the recaptured towns was not yet public. Read as an assessment of April 2022 it holds up; read as a description of the war it does not, and the guests are careful about the difference.
