In an editorial in Helsingin Sanomat, someone says it's completely wrong to claim that free speech is somehow worse in Europe and Finland than in the United States, just because Trump has been cracking down on left-wing media over there — that's just complete disinformation, in other words, a lie. In the United States, there are very few legal restrictions on free speech at all. No incitement-against-an-ethnic-group laws, no statutes, none of the things that exist in every European country. What I admire most about American culture is also something that's basically never said in Finland: that not even the Democrats are pushing for those kinds of restrictions
